Ouray Ice Festival 2010 and Will Gadds "Endless Ascent"
(January 12th, 2010)

This year's Ouray Ice Festival was one to remember. Being its 15th anniversay, the hype was there and the energy was buzzing way above normal. When all was said and done, Josh Wharton took 1st place, topping out on the comp route with lots of time left. In a close second, Sam Alias also topped out, followed by Will Mayo taking 3rd place. Strong group. On the womens side, Ines took 1st, Audrey took 2nd, and Dawn Glance took 3rd (sorry if names are spelled wrong). Most likely the biggest event from the entire weekend was Will Gadd topping out his last lap (of 194 in total at 125ft approx per lap), finishing his "Endless Ascent", dedicated to raising money for the "Dzi foundation". A true inspiration. Will climbed for 24hrs straight, lap after lap, for this amazing cause. Nice work.

Pastrana straps wings to his car (January 2nd, 2010)
Travis Pastrana is always looking for something crazy to do first. Well, he certainly pulled it off once again by strapping wings to his car. On New Years Eve, infront of thousands of people (in Long beach), Pastrana launched is Subaru Rally Specific car over the water, soaring for 270ft, and landing on a barge. He stuck it perfectly as if parking his car at the local grocery store. Although the landing was slick, Pastrana managed to stear his car sideways into the wall of tires, coming to an abrupt, but safe end.

Gordon McArthur takes 1st place at comp. (Nov. 11th, 2009)
"IceHoldz provided several holds to set the finals route at The Rock climbing gyms' indoor ice climbing competition (in Colorado Springs, Denver) on November 6, 2009. Gordon McArthur took first place and won the event as he was the only competitor to complete the finals route (M10+). Andres Marin of Colorado took a close second and Marc Beverly of New Mexico took third." –IceHoldz

Front Cover of Photo Life Magazine (Oct. 5th, 2009)
Last year I went on a mini trip with a photographer friend of mine, Patrice Halley, with a project in mind. In the back country of the selkirks, there lays a glacial cave at the back of White Boar Lake. When I found out about this cave, i knew i had to climb it. And i knew that i had to bring patrice with me. The idea was to climb the arch of the cave brim and get some cool shots with an amazing back drop in behind. Well, today Photo Life Magazine released their latest issue with the White Boar shot featured on their cover. Super cool. Big thanks goes out to Patrice Halley for getting this amazing shot. (Ps. this cave collapsed the next season)

Big UP Productions
releases "Progression" Oct. 1st (Sept. 30, 2009)
The first thing you need to know about this movie is that it’s straight up — fancy scene transitions and text effects from past Big UP flicks like Pilgrimage, or The Dosage series are gone, leaving only stark images of gifted humans pushing themselves like mad demons to the edge of the possible. The second thing you should know is that Big UP (bigupproductions.com) is trying something new with the distribution of Progression — in addition to the DVD ($29.95), you also have the option to download a high-res, full-length version of the movie for $19.95. Another sign that the digital age is altering every form of media.
